Treasures of the Dead
Before the tomb was excavated, many scientists and archeologists believed that all Egyptian tombs had been stripped of valuables by tomb robbers. However, King Tut's tomb held many treasures. Most of the contents were made of gold, silver, or encrusted with jewels. Some of these were thrones, jewelry, and gilded statues. Other things found in the tomb were musical instruments, food, war materials, and games such as Senet. The prominent item in the tomb, despite these fantastic treasures, was the coffin. It was made of solid gold. The mummies of his two infant daughters were also found inside the tomb.
